Program Notes:

Jormungandr (2017 rev 2019), for live electronics, draws inspiration from Norse mythology. Jörmungandr, known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent, is the middle child of the giantess Angrboða and Loki. Tossed into the great ocean that encircles Midgard by Odin, the serpent grew so large that it was able to surround the earth and grasp its own tail. According to the Prose Edda, when Jörmungandr releases its tail, Ragnarök will begin.
